My resume
Experience
September 2020 - Present
PhD student at the University of Manchester
"Understanding the bendability of aluminium sheet with 3D material characterisation and modelling"
The key challenge of aluminium sheet manufacturing is to produce a material that has at the same time high strength, good formability, corrosion resistance, highly recyclable and low cost. This project focused on producing high quality aluminium sheets with improved final performance, formability and longer durability, by means of connecting their structural features at a microscopic level (microstructure) with their resistance to surface cracking during bending. The connections found can be used to modify the manufacturing process and tailor the microstructure in a way that the final product is improved.

Education

2020/2021 academic year
Advanced Metal Systems Program
As part of my training during my doctoral studies at the University of Manchester, I am undertaking a training program during this 2020/2021 academic year that is helping me lay the foundations and expand my knowledge in materials science and engineering, with a special focus on metallic materials, in order to have more tools when facing the problems of my thesis.
Furthermore, this program allows me to meet engineers and scientists in similar circumstances, which allows us to cooperate and enrich each other during the development of our individual thesis projects.

2019/2020 academic year
Master in Materials Science and Engineering
(60 ECTS)
The completion of this master's degree is focused on ensuring that its students achieve the knowledge and skills that allow them to be original in the development and/or application of ideas to solve problems related to the design, processing, characterisation and behavior in service of materials. .
Its main objective is to train students to generate new knowledge and apply existing knowledge to solve the large number of problems related to materials that currently limit economic development and condition the sustainability of the industry.

2015/2016 academic year
Interuniversity Master in New Materials
(60 ECTS)
This master's degree provides solid training in the most current methodologies for synthesis, characterisation, properties and applications of new materials, in fields as diverse as biomaterials, nanomaterials, smart materials, materials for energy, electronics, catalysis, etc.
The program trains you to make decisions in the scientific and technological development fields as well as to carry out group research work.

Academic years: 2010/2015
Degree in Chemical Engineering (240 ECTS)
The general objective of this degree is to train professionals with the ability to apply the scientific method and the principles of engineering and economics to formulate and solve complex problems.
Graduates have skills related to carrying out projects for facilities and auxiliary services in the chemical industries, as well as the projection, design and development of processes and chemical products applying scientific and technological bases, and the writing of studies, works, reports. and procedures in the economic, environmental, chemical industrial, social and labor fields.
